Can You Believe It

Can you believe that my sweet baby girl is now 6 months old! That is half of a year.....my it has flown. It will not be long till I am chasing after her! She is the best part of our lives!!

Not saying a lot tonight, I am very tired. We have a busy weekend ahead us!

Show Us Where You Live Friday

Over at Kelly's Korner, she has been Show Us Where You Live Friday. It has been so much fun looking at all the homes! I have not joined in, mainly because I am still doing a little redecorating! I did think it would be fun to post some special things about Sophie Clare's room!







Let me start by saying, A PINK NURSERY IS WHAT I HAVE ALWAYS PRAYED FOR!!!!! God is so good!! I want to let you know that all of the art work is done by "my mother" She is so sweet to do anything I want. I come with an idea and she will get started on it! I am blessed!! This is on her door as you come into her room! There is no doubt knowing who this room belongs to! ha. Her room is made up of many colors and patterns which I love!!! I have never been a matchy kinda girl! The main colors in her room are pink, green and black! The patterns consist of polka dot, check, stripe, floral, and damisk.

I have several favorites in her room............I love her banner, this is what we hung on the door at the hospital! Now it hangs over her bed!
I had a hard time finding bedding that I loved and that did not cost a small fortune. I did not that I wanted to mix and match fabrics and add my on personal touches! I actually ordered the bedding from Sears for $150.00 The bumper pads were so paper thin. I decided to get Ms. Donna (Natalie's mother-n-law) to stuff them and add new ties to them! What a great job she did!!! I love them!! What is so funny about the ties..........I set there one night and tried to tie them but I just could not get them to look right........so Jamie gave it a try and don't they look awesome!!! The sheet that is on the bed now is one that my Aunt Janine made and it looks good with her bedding!

Her bow holder..........needless to say, I need another one! All of her bows will not fit! I am still searching .

The changing table is truly a very special gift!!! Jamie dad (Sophie Clare's paw paw Larry) that just recently passed away made this for her! He did such a great job! On the bottom of it he signed his name and put the date! Now she will always have a piece a furniture from him that she can hold dear to her heart! We love and miss him!!

Let's just say this chair has been around for a loooong time and it has a brother. My grandmother and grandaddy gave us the 2 chairs when we got married (almost 12 years ago) They had used them for a while and got tired of them so we got them! One was a dark tan and the other country blue, later I got them covered in a cream. I got so tired of these chairs, I put them in the spare bedroom and closed the door! When it came time for a rocking chair for her room..........WHY BUY ONE???? I picked out the fabric and carried them to Charley's in Boaz. He did the one in black/white check as you can see and the other in a deep red! He did such a great job!!!
I absolutely love my diaper holder!! My sis-n-law got it for me, she is so sweet. At first, I could not decide on how to hang it.........but one day I was in Hobby Lobby and came across this door knob. What better to hang it on??

Just a Good Day

This morning we had to get up at got a move on! We had an appointment at 10:00am.........after that we headed to TJ Maxx .......Sophie Clare decided to would nap while I shop!! What a sweet baby? Then we headed to Wal-Mart.............Before Sophie Clare got here, I NEVER went .........now I go at least once if not twice a week! I just don't seem to mind consider who I get to go with :) Sophie Clare LOVES it! She is now sitting up in the buggy and looks and smiles at everyone that goes by! I can not wait till she can say HI to everyone! We came home after that and just played!! When Jamie got home we went outside for a little photo op!! I am in need of a photo editing program......so if anyone knows of a good one and not to price-e, let me know!

I have good night.......... I have a very sleepy baby , that is ready for a bath, bottle and bed!!

Yesterday we got up around 7:45 am. We did out morning routine and then Sophie Clare decided to take about a 2 1/2 hr nap!! When she does that, I can get so much done......if I do not hold her through it!!! I had to wake her up to get her ready! We were going to see my grandmother at rehab!! So of course I had to do a little photo session!! She was so good while we were gone. When we got home we got on our play clothes!! It is so much fun to lay in the floor with her! It quit raining long enough to get the mail!! Sophie Clare LOVES to go and get the mail (only because it is outside) I barely got the door open and she started squealing. Sopmetime I worry about taking her to the mailbox with me, the cars on our road drive way to fast!! They do not even slow down much when they see you! It is crazy!! We came back inside and sat on the couch to go through the mail!! As you can see here Sophie Clare is checking to see what it on sale in the baby department at Sears!
She decided that is was nothing that she needed so she of course wanted to eat it!!

Later I met Angie at Jefferson. It is our most favorite place to go and just get away for a bit!! I am so blessed to have such a great sis-n-law!! We could sit in there for hours and talk about anything and everything!! I had such a great time! I love you! I can not wait to do it again!! Jamie held down the fort with Sophie Clare and what a great job he did! Thanks so much for letting me have a little break!!

What We Did On Monday

Good afternoon! I hope you all had a great day yesterday!! I got up and started in like it was a normal kinda day! I have to sweep everyday and I did some laundry!! We cooked some hot dogs on the grill and I made some of my yummy beans! I will have to post the recipe!! Later that afternoon we got ready and headed over to Stacey and Karen's house for a cookout!! This is the group that we did everything with when Jamie and I first met! Jimbo actually lived at Jamie's for a while, when we were dating!! Now everyone has children and live very busy lives. It has been a very lomg time since we have seen them. It was good to catch up!! Since we were outside, Sophie Clare LOVED it!! All those kiddos to watch!! She took a little cat nap and then right back to watching everything! Me and Sarah (Jimbo's wife) She is super sweet and I loved getting to hang out with her!! I can not wait to do it again!

Here are the 3 musketeers. Jamie, Jimmy (JIMBO) and Stacey. They have been friends forever! You should just hear some of there stories. They were a mess!! I met all of them when I worked at Unisa and Stacey worked next door at Izod!

Savanna is pulling them and they are loving it!!

Yardsale Treasures

Here are just a few of my yardsale treasures! I found a Baby Lulu sleeper and a smocked Kissy Kissy jumper for 50 cents! Most of the smocked stuff I find is Petite Ami. Even thought Sophie Clare has never had on a pair of shoes, She hasplenty to choose from when she does! It is amazing what a little Shout Spray will do for a pair of Keds!! I aslo found some really grea puzzles for 10 cents each! You can not beat that!!!

What a Sunday

I want to start by wishing my mother a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! We got up this morning and got ready for church! We dressed patriotic for out Memorial service. So I thought I would capture a picture of Jamie and Sophie Clare.......they just matched so good!! I so wanted a smile out of her so I did everything in my power to get one.............and it worked! I was either singing the Hot dog song from Mickey Mouse or Have a Little Talk With Jesus........I know they are 2 totally different songs but they both are her fave!! Just look at that grin, she is just so tickled! She is always smiling until she sees mommy with the camera.

We had a great service at church and the choir did a great job! After church we all went to Golden Rule to eat for mom's b-day. Then we headed to my mom and dad's. I stopped by home to change clothes and about the time I get ready to go to the car the bottom fell out! So I got to mom and dad's and I will just say that I was complaining about the rain! My feet were wet and so were my clothes.......not to mention it is just not fun getting in and out with a baby when it is raining! Anyways we wanted to get a picture of the girls, so we all went out onto the sun porch and here are a couple.........it is so hard to get them all to look the same way but are the not CUTE!!!!

As we were taking the pictures.......we all of the sudden heard a cracking sound. Mother and daddy have a HUGE oak tree in the back yard, I am sure some of you know the one I am talking about! The WHOLE side of the tree came tumbling down......right on top of the play house, chicken coop and daddy's shop! What you may not know.....that is where we do a lot of playing.......the swing is out there, the fish pond.......so needless to say if it had not been raining that is probably where we would have been! GOD IS GOOD! So you see, I am now thankful that it was raining!

It was all like it was in slow motion......the power lines snapped and smoke came out! I grabbed Angie and she grabbed me.........you ask where were the girls, they are still sitting on the swing! I just starting crying and poor Angie could not catch her breath! I have a lot of memories out there!!!

After we all calm down, we had a very enjoyable afternoon!


As you can see here, Emily is enjoying her ice cream cone in her tutu! She loves this tutu and always puts it on!

VBS is Coming Quick

We got up this morning and headed out to some yard sales!!! I was not sure if it was going to be a good day for it or not........I know we need the rain but I just wanted it to hold off! We have been looking mostly for toys for church and Sophie Clare...........Why pay Wal-Mart price, when you can get them for 50 cents to $2:00. They grow out of them so quick!! Monday I am going to do a post of some of the great yard sale finds!! So be sure to check back!! We have LOTS of birthdays this Summer, so we headed to Trussville to see what we could find. I was so upset with Target, they did not have anything!! Wal-Mart may be my new BFF!! I hope you all are having a great weekend!!

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is just around the corner for Carlise Baptist Church (BOAZ). All kids LOVE VBS, so I if you live in the area............WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!
We have classes for age 2-grade 12
June 6 - 10
Saturday June 6th 3:00 - 7:15........sounds like a long a long day buts it is Prep Day! Tons of FUN!!!
Sunday - Wednesday 6:00-8:30

Fab Friday

I will just say that I have a sleepy head. Last night Sophie Clare went to bed around 10:00 and woke up ready to play at 5:30 , then she went back to sleep and did not wake up till 11:00. Needless to say I did get a lot done! When she woke up, I got her ready........Jennifer and Cole came by for a visit! Cole is just a little doll! He is everywhere, I can not believe how big he is getting! I can not wait for another play date!!

Busy Little Bees

As you all know we have been very busy! Sophie Clare must have been wore out! She did not get up till 9:30am! WOW!! After she got up, we went to Wal-Mart, the grocery store.......... we met Jamie and Justin at the Cupboard for lunch!! YUMMY!! Then it was off to TJ Maxx! I love that store!! I can always find something!!! So tomorrow I will have to say, we are not going anywhere!!
